Fabrics

The range of quality fabrics is manufactured by Ross Fabrics of Leeds. All fabrics offered by The Footstool Studio are flame retardant and comply fully with BS.5852, Part 1: Ignition Source 1 (Match) and Ignition Source 0 (Cigarette), as laid out in the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire)(Safety) regulations, 1988.

We have tried to provide an accurate representation of fabric colour on screen. However, to ensure complete satisfaction with the final product, we recommend that you request a fabric sample before ordering. This is easily done by sending your request to enquiries@footstoolstudio.co.uk or by filling in a request on the Web Form and your sample will be promptly despatched.

Should you like a footstool covered to match other furniture in the home, this can be undertaken provided you can supply us with the fabric. For further information on this service please e-mail at enquiries@footstoolstudio.co.uk . If we cannot be certain that your supplied fabric is fire retardant, we will use the necessary lining fabric under it so as to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.

Upholstery

Cushioning is manufactured from combustion modified high resilience (CMHR) foam with a polyester wadding interlayer under all finishing fabric. This provides comfort and a softened exterior appearance, whilst offering extended use without sagging.

Storage versions are fully lined with a non-flammable material. The liner fully meets the requirements of a "Schedule 3 Interliner" under the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire)(Safety) regulations, 1988. Although the liner does not have to meet these regulations, we feel that the use of non-flammable material is a worthwhile additional safety feature.

Legs

All wooden legs are produced from solid beech, a material having a beautiful close grain. The legs are available in the following finishes:

Mahogany Gloss		Walnut Gloss		Antique Wax		Natural Gloss

Those legs fitted with castors have brass castor wheels set on swivels and mounted on polished brass end cups. In the case of the storage cube, the castors fitted are of a robust twin-wheel plastic design.
